2 Timothy 3:2b lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy,

Proverbs 16:5 (NLT) The LORD detests the proud; they will surely be punished.

Psalm 28:5 (NLT) They care nothing for what the LORD has done or for what his hands have made. So he will tear them down, and they will never be rebuilt!

·         Main Point #1: Staying grateful to God keeps us faithful to God. Thank Him for what He HAS done, IS doing, & WILL DO for you!

2 Timothy 3:3a without love, unforgiving,

Colossians 3:13 Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.

·         Main Point #2: Forgiveness isn’t a “feeling” it’s a choice! CHOOSE to Forgive someone, it’s a tangible way to OBEY God

2 Timothy 3:3b-4 slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, 4 treacherous, rash, conceited lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God—

1 John 2:16 For everything in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—comes not from the Father but from the world

Psalm 16:11 You make known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand.        

2 Timothy 3:5a having a form of godliness but denying its power.

·         Main Point #3: If your life didn’t change when you met Jesus, it’s not likely your eternal destination did either…

2 Timothy 3:5b Have nothing to do with such people.

2 Thessalonians 3:14 Do not associate with them, in order that they may feel ashamed.

2 Timothy 3:6-7 They are the kind who worm their way into homes and gain control over gullible women, who are loaded down with sins and are swayed by all kinds of evil desires, 7 always learning but never able to come to a knowledge of the truth.

·         Adam Clarke: “Some people repeatedly hear good sermons without meditating on what they hear. They may not depart from the Lord, but they do not put what they hear into practice. Even under the preaching of an apostle, they could not become wise to salvation.”

·         Main Point #4: REAL knowledge (Godly wisdom) is only found by submitting to the eternal truth found in God’s Word.

2 Timothy 3:8-9 Just as Jannes and Jambres opposed Moses, so also these teachers oppose the truth. They are men of depraved minds, who, as far as the faith is concerned, are rejected. 9 But they will not get very far because, as in the case of those men, their folly will be clear to everyone.

·         Main Point #5: Don’t get discouraged by descriptions of end times! Put Christ first and ask Him to rule over your selfishness!
