This weekend we will study how the Apostle Paul turns human logic upside down by contrasting worldly wisdom and Godly wisdom, emphasizing the importance of humility and reliance on divine insight. In our passage Paul will highlight the necessity of humility and reliance on God's insight, urging believers to seek divine wisdom rather than human approval. You will also see the importance of unity in Christ following only Him and not any man.

1 Corinthians 3:18-20 Do not deceive yourselves. If any of you think you
are wise by the standards of this age, you should become “fools” so that you
may become wise. 19 For the wisdom of this world is foolishness in God’s sight. As it is
written: “He catches the wise in their craftiness;” 20 and again, “The Lord knows
that the thoughts of the wise are futile.”
·
True wisdom is not discovered by human means.
True wisdom is revealed by God through the Holy Spirit.
1 Corinthians 1:21 For since in the wisdom of God the world through its
wisdom did not know him, God was pleased through the foolishness of what was
preached to save those who believe.

6. Generosity
Job 5:13 (NLT) He traps the wise in their own cleverness, so their cunning schemes are
thwarted.
Psalm 94:11 “The Lord knows all human plans; he knows that they are futile.”
·
The foundation of True Wisdom is only God.
·
True wisdom comes from God and has eternal
significance.
· Pursuit
of Godly Wisdom:
·
1. Fear of
the Lord
Proverbs 9:10 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the
Holy One is understanding.
·
2. Pray
for Wisdom
James 1:5 "If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives
generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you."
·
3. Trust
in God
Proverbs 3:5-6 "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own
understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths
straight."
·
4. Study
the Scriptures
2 Timothy 3:16-17 All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking,
correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be
thoroughly equipped for every good work.
·
5. Be
Humble
James 4:10 Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up.
·
6. Cultivate
a relationship with Jesus
John 15:5 "I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in
you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing."
1 Corinthians 3:21-23 So then, no more boasting about human leaders! All
things are yours, 22 whether Paul or Apollos or Cephas or the world or life or death or the
present or the future—all are yours, 23 and you are of Christ, and Christ is of God.
1 John 4:18 There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear
has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.
Corinthians 4:1-4 This, then, is how you ought to regard us: as servants of Christ and as
those entrusted with the mysteries God has revealed. 2 Now it is required that
those who have been given a trust must prove faithful. 3 I care very little if I am
judged by you or by any human court; indeed, I do not even judge myself. 4
My conscience is
clear, but that does not make me innocent. It is the Lord who judges me.

God judges us not according to our gifts, but
