Luke 24:36-49 While they were still talking about this, Jesus himself stood among them
and said to them, “Peace be with you.” 37 They were startled and frightened, thinking
they saw a ghost. 38 He said to them, “Why are you troubled, and why do doubts rise in your
minds? 39 Look
at my hands and my feet. It is I myself! Touch me and see; a ghost does not
have flesh and bones, as you see I have.” 40 When he had said this, he showed them his
hands and feet. 41 And while they still did not believe it because of joy and amazement, he
asked them, “Do you have anything here to eat?” 42 They gave him a piece of
broiled fish, 43 and he took it and ate it in their presence. 44 He said to them, “This is
what I told you while I was still with you: Everything must be fulfilled that
is written about me in the Law of Moses, the Prophets and the Psalms.” 45
Then he opened
their minds so they could understand the Scriptures. 46 He told them, “This is
what is written: The Messiah will suffer and rise from the dead on the third
day, 47 and repentance
for the forgiveness of sins will be preached in his name to all nations,
beginning at Jerusalem. 48 You are witnesses of these things. 49 I am going to send you what
my Father has promised; but stay in the city until you have been clothed with
power from on high.”
Acts 1:8-9 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you
will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the
ends of the earth.” After he said this, he was taken up before their very eyes,
and a cloud hid him from their sight

The Holy Spirit is our Power from Above to
follow Jesus
Luke 24:50-53 When he had led them out to the vicinity of Bethany, he lifted up his
hands and blessed them. 51 While he was blessing them, he left them and was taken up into heaven.
52 Then they
worshiped him and returned to Jerusalem with great joy. 53 And they stayed
continually at the temple, praising God.

The Holy Spirit is God -- One Person of the Trinity
Acts 5:3-4 Then Peter said, “Ananias, how is it that Satan has so filled your heart
that you have lied to the Holy Spirit and have kept for yourself some of
the money you received for the land? Didn’t it belong to you before it was
sold? And after it was sold, wasn’t the money at your disposal? What made you
think of doing such a thing? You have not lied just to human beings but to
God.”
1 Peter 1:2 who have been chosen according to the foreknowledge of God the Father,
through the sanctifying work of the Spirit, to be obedient to Jesus
Christ and sprinkled with his blood: Grace and peace be yours in abundance.
Luke 3:21-22 When all the people were being baptized, Jesus was baptized too. And as
he was praying, heaven was opened 22 and the Holy Spirit descended on him in bodily form
like a dove. And a voice came from heaven: "You are my Son, whom I love;
with you I am well pleased."

The Holy Spirit Helps, Counsels and Teaches us
John 14:15-18 “If you love Me, keep My commands. 16 And I will ask the Father, and He will give
you another advocate to help you and be with you forever— 17 the Spirit of truth. The
world cannot accept Him, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him. But you
know Him, for He lives with you and will be in you. 18 I will not leave you as
orphans; I will come to you.
John 14:26 But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in
my name will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said
to you.
Acts 4:31 After they prayed, the place where they were meeting was shaken. And they
were all filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke the word of God boldly
Ephesians 5:18 Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery. Instead, be filled
with the Spirit,
Acts 10:37-38 You know what has happened throughout Judea, beginning in Galilee after
the baptism that John preached how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy
Spirit and power, and how he went around doing good and healing all who were
under the power of the devil, because God was with him.
John 16:8 When He comes, He will prove the world to be in the wrong about sin and
righteousness and judgment

Romans 8:9-11 You, however, are not in the realm of the flesh but are in the realm of
the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone does not
have the Spirit of Christ, they do not belong to Christ. But if Christ is
in you, then even though your body is subject to death because of sin, the
Spirit gives life because of righteousness. And if the Spirit of him who
raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the
dead will also give life to your mortal bodies because of his Spirit who lives
in you.
