70 Sevens Prophecy

Psalm 118:24 THIS IS THE DAY which the LORD has made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.

Daniel 9:20-21 While I was speaking and praying, confessing my sin and the sin of my people Israel and making my request to the Lord my God for his holy hill— 21 while I was still in prayer, Gabriel, the man I had seen in the earlier vision, came to me in swift flight about the time of the evening sacrifice.

·        Humility in prayer precedes repentance, which precedes God's promised revelation.

Daniel 9:22-24 He instructed me and said to me, “Daniel, I have now come to give you insight and understanding. 23 As soon as you began to pray, a word went out, which I have come to tell you, for you are highly esteemed. Therefore, consider the word and understand the vision: 24 “Seventy ‘sevens’ are decreed for your people and your holy city to finish transgression, to put an end to sin, to atone for wickedness, to bring in everlasting righteousness, to seal up vision and prophecy and to anoint the Most Holy Place.

·        GOD’S GOAL - What will be accomplished within in the 70 weeks:

·        Finish the transgression.

·        Put an end of sins.

·        Atonement for wickedness.

·        Bring in everlasting righteousness.

·        (Affirm) Seal up vision and prophecy.

·        Anoint the Most Holy Place.

Daniel 9:25 “Know and understand this: From the time the word goes out to restore and rebuild Jerusalem until the Anointed One, the ruler, comes, there will be seven ‘sevens,’ and sixty-two ‘sevens.’ It will be rebuilt with streets and a trench, but in times of trouble.

·        Timeline of the Rebuilding of Jerusalem

·        Seven 7s = 49 years

·        From the time the word goes out to restore and rebuild Jerusalem

·        King Artaxerxes (recorded in Nehemiah 2) decreed in March 14, 444 B.C. to send the Jews back to rebuild Jerusalem.

·        Jerusalem was rebuilt, with walls, moat, and temple by 395. (444 B.C. to 395 B.C. = 49 years)

·        Until the Anointed One (Messiah) would come.

·        Timeline of the 1st Coming of the Messiah

·        7 sevens + 62 sevens = 69 sevens (or 49 + 434 = 483 years)

·        69 units x 7 sevens = 483 years

·        But we have an issue 444 B.C. to 32 A.D. = 476 years.

·        From 445 B.C. to A.D. 32. there are 476 years on the Gregorian calendar (what we use today).

·        476 years x 365 days = 173,740 days.

·        But they used Jewish Calendar that is 360 days a year.

·        Adjusting for the difference between March 14 and April 6 adds 24 days.

·        Adjusting for leap years over a period of 476 years adds 116 days.

·        173,740 + 24 + 116 = 173,880 days = adjust to the 360 days to the year Jewish calendar

·        The total number of days from March 14, 445 B.C. to April 6, A.D. 32.

·        OUR GOD IS MAKING EACH DAY

·        The coming Messiah:

·        14 March 445 BC The commandment (Decree) to restore Jerusalem and rebuild the Temple was given by Artaxerxes. (Nehemiah 2)

·            + 173,880 days (Daniel 9:25)

·        = 6 April 32 AD (John 12:13 - Palm Sunday) Jesus publicly presents himself as the Messiah.

Zechariah 9:9 Rejoice greatly, Daughter Zion! Shout, Daughter Jerusalem! See, YOUR KING comes to you, righteous and victorious, lowly and riding on a donkey, on a colt, the foal of a donkey.

Daniel 9:26 After the sixty-two ‘sevens,’ the Anointed One will be put to death and will have nothing.[g] The people of the ruler who will come will destroy the city and the sanctuary. The end will come like a flood: War will continue until the end, and desolations have been decreed.

Mark 13:1-2 As Jesus was leaving the temple, one of his disciples said to him, “Look, Teacher! What massive stones! What magnificent buildings!” 2 “Do you see all these great buildings?” replied Jesus. “Not one stone here will be left on another; everyone will be thrown down.”

Luke 19:41-44 As he approached Jerusalem and saw the city, he wept over it 42 and said, “If you, even you, had only known on this day what would bring you peace—but now it is hidden from your eyes. 43 The days will come upon you when your enemies will build an embankment against you and encircle you and hem you in on every side. 44 They will dash you to the ground, you and the children within your walls. They will not leave one stone on another, because you did not recognize the time of God’s coming to you.”

Daniel 9:27 He will confirm a covenant with many for one ‘seven.’ In the middle of the ‘seven’ he will put an end to sacrifice and offering. And at the temple he will set up an abomination that causes desolation, until the end that is decreed is poured out on him.”

·        Time Period in Gabriel’s 3 Divisions

·        7 weeks = 49 years (took 49 years to rebuild Jerusalem & Temple)

·        62 weeks = 434 years (gap of time before the 1st Coming of Christ)

·        1 week = 7 years (time that has not happened yet)

·        When we believe God, we anticipate Him.
