In Daniel chapter 12, we learn about a time of trouble, but faithfulness to God has a rich reward, not necessarily in this life, but certainly for all of eternity.

Daniel 12:1 “At that time Michael, the great prince who protects your people, will
arise. There will be a time of distress such as has not happened from the
beginning of nations until then. But at that time your people—everyone whose
name is found written in the book—will be delivered.
Jeremiah 30:7 How awful that day will be! No other will be like it. It will be a time
of trouble for Jacob, but he will be saved out of it.
·
The great promise of hope for true believers,
everyone who puts their faith, trust and genuinely believes in Jesus will be
saved.
Daniel 12:2 Multitudes who sleep in the dust of the earth will awake: some to
everlasting life, others to shame and everlasting contempt.
Matthew 25:46 Then they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to
eternal life.
·
For believers, the end of earthly life is the
beginning of eternal life.
Daniel 12:3 Those who are wise will shine like the brightness of the heavens, and
those who lead many to righteousness, like the stars for ever and ever.
Matthew 13:43 Then the righteous will shine like the sun in the kingdom of their
Father. Whoever has ears, let them hear.
·
Faithful
followers will commit to sharing the truth, getting involved in Kingdom work
winning souls.
Daniel 12:4 But you, Daniel, roll up and seal the words of the scroll until the time
of the end. Many will go here and there to increase knowledge.”
·
Believers for all times can look at God’s word,
find hope, and see how faithful He keeps His promises.
Daniel 12:5-6 Then I, Daniel, looked, and there before me stood two others, one on this
bank of the river and one on the opposite bank. 6 One of them said to the
man clothed in linen, who was above the waters of the river, “How long will it
be before these astonishing things are fulfilled?”
1 Peter 1:7 These have come so that the proven genuineness of your faith—of greater
worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire—may result in
praise, glory, and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed.
·
We must wait on our Lord with faith and
patience.
Daniel 12:7-8 The man clothed in linen, who was above the waters of the river, lifted
his right hand and his left hand toward heaven, and I heard him swear by him
who lives forever, saying, “It will be for a time, times and half a time. When
the power of the holy people has been finally broken, all these things will be
completed.” 8 I
heard, but I did not understand. So, I asked, “My lord, what will the outcome
of all this be?”
John 16:12 I have much more to say to you, more than you can now bear.
·
Trust God, humbly ask for the understanding that
we need, but God may not tell us. The secret things belong to the LORD our God.
Daniel 12:9-10 He replied, “Go your way, Daniel, because the words are rolled up and
sealed until the time of the end. 10 Many will be purified, made spotless and refined,
but the wicked will continue to be wicked. None of the wicked will understand,
but those who are wise will understand.
2 Peter 1:19 We also have the prophetic message as something completely reliable, and
you will do well to pay attention to it, as to a light shining in a dark place,
until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts.
·
Prophecy is our light when things get dark, a
life dedicated to God is never wasted.
Daniel 12:11-12 “From the time that the daily sacrifice is abolished and the abomination
that causes desolation is set up, there will be 1,290 days. 12 Blessed is the one who
waits for and reaches the end of the 1,335 days.
Matthew 24:15-17 “So when you see standing in the holy place ‘the abomination that causes
desolation,’ spoken of through the prophet Daniel—let the reader understand—
16 then let those
who are in Judea flee to the mountains. 17 Let no one on the housetop go down to take
anything out of the house.
·
Hope is ahead, God has set the end time, and
will be victorious over evil.
Daniel 12:13 “As for you, go your way till the end. You will rest, and then at the end
of the days you will rise to receive your allotted inheritance.”
Psalms 17:15 As for me, I will be vindicated and will see your face; when I awake, I
will be satisfied with seeing your likeness.
·
