God alone is HOLY. He is set apart from all Created Things. He is the Holy Creator, set apart, infinitely above and beyond His Creation. He is not like you and me, He is “Another”. He and He alone can impart and impute Holiness to something or someone else. He is the lone source of Holiness.
His Majesty is beheld in demonstration of His Holiness. When God acts or speaks, His Holy Character is displayed in divine splendor and majesty. He acts and speaks with supreme AUTHORITY. There is none higher. There is none that compares to His majesty and glory. He is Almighty God, King of kings and Lord of lords. There is no higher court to which one can appeal. He alone is Majestic. He alone is glorified in Hoiness.
When we behold Him in His Holiness and Majesty, the only logical reaction is our Awe and Wonder of Who He is and what He does.

children of Israel: ‘I am the Lord; I will bring you out from under the burdens
of the Egyptians, I will rescue you from their bondage, and I will redeem you
with an outstretched arm and with great judgments. 7 I will take you as My
people, and I will be your God. Then you shall know that I am the Lord your God
who brings you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians. 8 And I will bring you into
the land which I swore to give to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob; and I will give it
to you as a heritage: I am the Lord.’

Rabbinical Notes:
·
Acts 2:1-13 Dr. Joseph Hertz, The Authorized
Prayer Book, NY Block Publishing, pg. 781: “Revelation at Sinai, it was
taught, was given in desert territory which belongs to no one nation
exclusively; and it was not heard by Israel alone, but the inhabitants of all
the earth. The Divine Voice divided itself
into 70 tongues then spoken on the earth, so that all the children of men might
understand its world embracing and man – redeeming message… When God gave the
Torah on Sinai He displayed untold marvels to Israel with His Voice. What happened? God spoke and the Voice reverberated
throughout the world…It says, (Ex 20:18) ‘And all the peoples witnessed the
thunderings.”
·
Midrash, Exodus, Rabbah 5.9, Rabbi Johanan:
“God’s Voice, as it was uttered, split up into 70 voices, in 70 languages, so
that all nations should understand. When
each nation heard the Voice in their own vernacular, their soul departed [they
were in fear], save Israel, who heard but were not hurt.”
·
Rabbi Moshe Weissman, The Midrash Says of
Shemot, Benei Yakov, pg.182: “On the occasion of Matan Torah (giving of
Torah), the Bnai Yisrael (children of Israel) not only heard HaShem’s Voice,
but actually saw the sound waves as the emerged from HaShem’s mouth. They visualized them as a fiery
substance. Each commandment that left
HaShem’s mouth traveled around the entire camp and then came back to every Jew
individually, asking him, “Do you accept upon yourself this commandment with
all the halachot (Jewish Law) pertaining to it?” Every Jew answered, “Yes”, after each commandment. Finally, the fiery substance which they saw,
engraved itself on the luchot (tablets).”
Hebrews 12:28-29 Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom which cannot be shaken, let
us have grace, by which we may serve God acceptably, with reverence and godly
fear. 29 For
our God is a consuming fire.”
