2 Timothy 1:9 He has saved us and called us to a holy life—not because of anything we have done but because of his own purpose and grace. This grace was given us in Christ Jesus before the beginning of time
· God’s grace is receiving something from God that we did not earn or deserve.
2 Timothy 2:1 You then, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.
· Find your strength in the grace of God!
· The Grace of God is our only legitimate source of strength.
Philippians 3:4-9 If someone else thinks they have reasons to put confidence in the flesh, I have more: 5 circumcised on the eighth day, of the people of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, a Hebrew of Hebrews; in regard to the law, a Pharisee; 6 as for zeal, persecuting the church; as for righteousness based on the law, faultless. 7 But whatever were gains to me I now consider loss for the sake of Christ. 8 Indeed, I count everything as loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have suffered the loss of all things and count them as rubbish, in order that I may gain Christ 9 and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which comes through faith in Christ
Isaiah 6:5 “Woe is me! For I am lost; for I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips; for my eyes have seen the King, the LORD of hosts!”
Isaiah 6:7 “And he touched my mouth and said: “Behold, this has touched your lips: your guilt is taken away and your sin atoned for.”
· Isaiah wasn’t destroyed by God’s Holiness… He was transformed by it.
· A true awareness of God doesn’t destroy us… it transforms us!
· God takes sinful people and turns them into forgiven people. He justifies guilty people and makes them vessels of righteousness.
Romans 5:8 But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
Hebrews 4:16 (NASB) “Therefore let us draw near with confidence to the throne of grace, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.
Hebrews 13:9 It is good for our hearts to be strengthened by grace…
· When we look to ourselves, we either become prideful or discouraged.
· When we work, we work- when we trust God, He works!
2 Corinthians 12:9 “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.”
Revelation 12:11 They triumphed over him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony
