Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we
do not see.
·
Faith is complete trust or confidence in someone
or something.
·
Biblical faith is believing that God is who He
says He is and will accomplish everything that He has promised to do.
·
Changing how we believe is easier than changing
our lifestyle.
·
Convenience faith: A faith that is rooted
in convenience rather than truth.
·
Circumstantial faith allows circumstances to
define God.
·
1. Unexplainable tragedy: some tragedy that does
not fit the character of God or the Christian faith, as one believes or
understands it to be.
2 Corinthians 5:7 For we live by faith, not by sight.
·
Authentic faith is believing that God is who He
says He is and will accomplish everything that He has promised to do.
·
Never let our ever-changing circumstances define
God.
·
The confusion of faith lies in our unwillingness
to accept God for who He is rather than who we want Him to be.
Romans 10:17 (NKJV) So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the
word of God.
·
The amount of faith we have in God will
determine the amount of peace we have in life.
·
Our character grows more in dealing with
disappointments in life than it does in getting what we want.
·
He has promised to love us (Jer. 31.3, John
3:16), never leave us or forsake us (Heb.13:5-6), to finish the work He started
in us (Phil. 1:6), and to work all things out for the good of those who love
Him and are called according to His purpose (Rom. 8:28). He has promised to
forgive us of all of our sins (1 John 1:9) and promised us eternal life (John
3:16).
·
Authentic Faith obeys God because it believes
God is who He says He is and will accomplish everything that He has promised to
do!
·
Nothing says we trust God more than obedience.
Psalm 37:4 Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your
heart.
·
St. Augustine: “You have made us for
yourself, O Lord, and our heart is restless until it rests in you.”
Romans 3:23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.
Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in
Christ Jesus our Lord.
Romans 10:9-13 If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your
heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is with your heart
that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess
your faith and are saved. 11 As Scripture says, “Anyone who believes in him will never be put to
shame.” 12 For
there is no difference between Jew and Gentile—the same Lord is Lord of all and
richly blesses all who call on him, 13 for, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord
will be saved.”
