This weekend, we will look at the biblical narrative of Jesus' humble origins in Nazareth. Luke chapter 1 emphasizes the importance of faith and trust in God's plans. We will learn from Mary's acceptance of her role in God's plan despite her initial fear and confusion. There is power in saying "yes" to God's plan for our lives. Join us as we learn that embracing God's invitations is a privilege that allows us to participate with His work in His world! Come and see!

John 1:43-46 The next day Jesus decided to leave for Galilee. Finding Philip, he said
to him, “Follow me.” 44 Philip, like Andrew and Peter, was from the town of Bethsaida. 45 Philip found Nathanael and
told him, “We have found the one Moses wrote about in the Law, and about whom
the prophets also wrote—Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.” 46 “Nazareth! Can anything
good come from there?” Nathanael asked. “Come and see,” said Philip.

when God’s plans don’t seem to make sense, we have an invitation to come and
see.
Luke 1:26-37 In the sixth month of Elizabeth’s pregnancy, God sent the angel Gabriel
to Nazareth, a town in Galilee, 27 to a virgin pledged to be married to a man named
Joseph, a descendant of David. The virgin’s name was Mary. 28 The angel went to her and
said, “Greetings, you who are highly favored! The Lord is with you.” 29 Mary was greatly troubled
at his words and wondered what kind of greeting this might be. 30 But the angel said to her,
“Do not be afraid, Mary; you have found favor with God. 31 You will conceive and give
birth to a son, and you are to call him Jesus. 32 He will be great and will
be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of
his father David, 33 and he will reign over Jacob’s descendants forever; his kingdom will
never end.” 34 “How will this be,” Mary asked the angel, “since I am a virgin?” 35
The angel answered,
“The Holy Spirit will come on you, and the power of the Most High will
overshadow you. So the holy one to be born will be called[b] the Son of God.
36 Even Elizabeth
your relative is going to have a child in her old age, and she who was said to
be unable to conceive is in her sixth month. 37 For no word from God will ever fail.”

We can
trust God, because no word of His will ever fail.
Luke 1:38 And Mary said, “Behold, I am the servant[a] of the Lord; let it be to me
according to your word.” And the angel departed from her.

Our
responsibility is not to understand God’s plan, but it’s to say yes knowing
that He is responsible for the details.

John 2:1-5 On the third day there was a wedding at Cana in Galilee, and the mother
of Jesus was there. 2 Jesus also was invited to the wedding with his disciples. 3 When the wine ran out, the
mother of Jesus said to him, “They have no wine.” 4 And Jesus said to her,
“Woman, what does this have to do with me? My hour has not yet come.” 5 His mother said to the
servants, “Do whatever he tells you.”
